Written by marcuss I’ve been investing in real estate for a very long time. From the home I live in, to property companies, to physical investment properties. But one of my favorite real estate investments is real estate investment trusts (REITs). Vivid_Cafe / Pixabay REITs were created back in 1960 to allow regular everyday investors to invest in large portfolios of income-generating real estate. U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower approved the legal framework for a real estate structure that’s similar to the mutual fund structure for investing in stocks. REITs have since spread around the world as an increasing number of jurisdictions ...
There once was a fisherman from a small Mediterranean coastal village in Malta. He sailed out one day and had great luck, catching 300 pounds of bass and rock cod. That evening he sold the fish to a fish broker in exchange for hard currency. The next morning the broker, in turn, sold the fish to a wholesaler, in exchange for future credit. The wholesaler, in turn, sold the fish to several merchants in exchange for building products. One of the merchants sold some of the fish to a farmer in exchange for grain. The next day, the farmer, who bought more fish than his family could eat, sold several of the fish to a neighbor in exchange for labor....
The previous EUR/USD analysis went exactly as expected and EUR/USD is challenging 1.2000 zone. Month’s end fixing and additional yearly profit taking could also spur a new wave of sellers later in the day. Bullish rejections could happen within 1.1950-60 zone and 1.1900-10 while we may see sellers within 1.2007-1.2027. However, if the price proceeds upwards without any sign of making a u-turn, then traders should watch daily resistance levels (historical swing highs) and divergence around that particular levels. Watch for volatility today as the New Year is approaching. We might see larger price swings that are almost impossible to pr...
Earlier this month, Litecoin founder Charlie Lee sold (or donated) all of his Litecoin. And the thing you have to understand about Charlie’s decision is that it had nothing to do with this chart which shows that Litecoin’s recent gains have outpaced those logged by Bitcoin and Ethereum: No, Charlie wasn’t cashing out at the top. He was just freeing himself up to tweet about Litecoin with a clear conscience – that according to a statement he posted on Reddit. Of course you’d be forgiven for being a skeptical about Charlie’s “explanation” because after all, just 9 days earlier he tweeted this about the distinct possibility tha...

Is the long gold consolidation coming to the end of the yellow brick road? So why the gold price up swing? TRUMP tax cuts, while US spending and debt explodes. 2017Q1 war with north Korea. Europe is staying together after BREXIT. Trump wants a weaker $USD. Higher US interest rates are expected after US tax cuts, while prior money printing debt is huge. China yuan and oil trading backed by gold out side anglo saxon gold exchanges. US is going to boom and inflation will result. Non US Central banks will panic as Trump tax cuts suck GDP back to the US. More bonds with negative interest rates. Those who naked short gold are on Xmas break! Who kno...
The Year-End number for the Shanghai share index is 3239.5. A closing above this number will keep the market in a consolidation mode. Resistance stands at 3478.01 and support going into 2018 will reside at 2444.0. A closing below 3478.01 will warn that we may see a retest of support. In the case of Hong Kong, there is a risk of new intraday highs in 2018, but 2017 may remain as the highest annual closing. If this proves to be correct, then 2018 could form a major high given this is also lining up with the Pi Cycle. Critical support will now lie at the 28620 level....
WTI Crude Oil The WTI Crude Oil market rallied a bit during the trading session on Thursday, testing the $60 level. If we can break above the $60 level, the market should continue to go towards the $62.50 level, which is a bit of a target. I think if we break down from here, there’s probably plenty of support underneath to continue to push to the upside. However, I think that if we break down below the $58 level, the market is likely to be very difficult to deal with and the short-term, but longer-term I think we will see that the market is getting a bit overextended. Because of this, it’s likely that it will be very noisy, so I do not li...
Bonanza Creek Energy (BCEI) announced that it has agreed to terminate its previously announced agreement to merge with SandRidge Energy (SD). After consultation with SandRidge’s largest shareholders, SandRidge’s board concluded that it would not receive approval for the transaction at its planned special meeting. An agreement between Bonanza Creek and SandRidge was then reached to mutually terminate the merger agreement. As part of the mutual termination agreement, SandRidge will reimburse Bonanza Creek for transaction-related expenses up to $3.7M....
Euro/dollar, the world’s most popular currency pair, has suffered long spells of low volatility during 2017. Yet in the final week, as many traders are on holiday, it is making a remarkable move to the upside, rising on natural flows, something we haven’t seen for quite some time. The pair is trading at 1.1982 at the time of writing, adding 40 pips in the final trading day of the year after gradually moving higher early in the week. The round number of 1.20 is very close. Should we have a breakout, the next level to watch is the 2017 high of 1.2090, which still seems far at the moment. We did have some economic data released from the eur...
